Michael was born in New York City and began performing theatre in 2003. He has studied, performed, and taught improvisational theatre in New York, Florida, and California. He received his B.A. with a major in psychology and a minor in theatre from SUNY- Albany and a Masters in Clinical Psychology from University of Central Florida. He created and facilitated a workshop called Mindful Improv and leads a weekly men’s group, “Men Share” for men looking to create deep and meaningful relationships. A favorite instructor at Leela, Michael teaches Leela’s Improv I class, “Let’s Play!”, the weekly Thursday night drop-in class, and leads corporate workshops for Leela’s Corporate Training division. In addition to performing regularly with Leela’s Performance Improv Ensemble, Sketchy Alley, he also serves as the ensemble’s production manager. When not performing and teaching, Michael is a residential counselor for a transitional residential facility. With a great passion for health, well-being, and physical expression, Michael is a dedicated martial artist and hip-hop dancer.
